All you have to do to have a nice garden is that you remove the weeds and put in fertilizers and water so that the plants can develop naturally. You cannot focus on individual plants; you have to only change the environment. If the environment is conducive the plants shall grow automatically and bear the best fruits.

What is true for plants is also true for any nation. For example, countries like America became the most powerful and prosperous countries not by being compassionate and kind to the individuals. They only focused on creating necessary infrastructure which automatically spurred growth. People too are like plants, when they are planted in the proper ground and given fertilizers and water, they grow automatically. The great nations, therefore, focus on providing education to their people which makes them useful members of the society. They develop roads, houses and electricity so that people can use them and produce useful things for the society. They create justice system so that people are treated fairly and justly. They make rules and laws which are fair, just and conducive to the growth of individuals.

There are many nations, who instead of focusing on the environment, focuses on the people. They provide doles, financial assistance, foods for the people who are weak. This consumes most of their resources and they are left little to create the conducive environment. In such societies the people are perennially dependent on the government and they can never grow to their full potential. The national governments are also unable to plan for the future or create infrastructure since their entire energy is consuming in satisfying the day-to-day needs of the people.

In the same way, in the family also, the best parents always work for creating a conducive environment for their children. They give love, peace and happiness to the child. They let the child see for themselves the benefits of education, discipline and working hard. The best method to create such an environment is when the parents themselves do the same acts. This creates the proper environment in the home and the growth of the child takes place automatically.

Life is a mystery which can not be explained either by science or by scriptures. Truth has a body and a soul which we call science and religion. Contrary to popular perception, they are not opposed to each other but complement each other like body and soul. In fact, they can not exist without each other.
